How To Increase Traffic For My Site

Filed Under (Computer, Network Marketing, business, internet marketing, own business, part-time) by kksiong on 23-11-2008

That’s a tough question which I have been asking for the past months. What is the purpose of getting more traffic for any particular website ? It all depends on the message being sold by the webmaster or the owner themselves. Some do it to generate awareness on the contents they are providing, some do so for the sake of marketing products or services so that they can make money out of it.

Scour the web today and you can find all kind of web contents : educational, instructional, marketing, soliciting services, hobbies and what-have-you. Some of these messages looks ridiculous to you but it can be useful for someone else somewhere in this world. In order to constantly attract others to visit your site, you must be able to append interesting Contents so that people will long to read it each time its posted.

There are many gurus out there who can teach you how to increase traffic to your website for Free or for a Fee ( via ebook sales that can be so extremely hyped up that it make you go on a impulse buying spree ). Naturally as a beginner in this industry, I do fell into their traps but, as time goes by, I will know whether they are authentic just by reading some of the claims they made on their really Long Sales Page.

As I explore how to make this website attractive enough to draw traffic, I also learnt that it is not as simple as claimed by many. The most important factor after all is still the Passion in what I am doing. Do I have what it takes to keep on modifying the contents that will eventually bring the crowds here ? Do I start to lose interest after months of inactivity or lack of subscribers ? As for me, I have learned not to be bother by these setbacks. I just keep adding articles like I am talking to my Internet friends on the web, Sooner or later, someone will like my site so much that they refer it to their friends or subscribers.

This whole situation is similar to Network Marketing whereby the going seems futile during the initial months but with perseverance and believe, the result will eventually be more sweeter than expected.

I am in the midst of exploring a Sub-Domain where I will focus on a Single topic : ” Becoming A Freelance Computer Service Support Specialist “. I am learning to generate those Web pages from Scratch and Appending informations relating to this subject matter. I believe that all my friends, relatives and customers whom I have known all these years will be able to visit it and learn a thing or two. If I prepare some informations daily for these web pages on a daily basis, I know I will have enough informations to write a book. Its whether I am willing to take that first step or not. Do wish me success ;-)

I also believed that if any informations provided by me are truthful and purposeful, there will be plenty of visitors out there who will constantly come back to my site to read all the new post.

My question has lately change to ” What Should I Do Now To Make My Site Effective Enough To Increase The Traffic I Want ? ”

How do you make learning fun?

Filed Under (Manage your finances, Writing your Blog, home based, internet marketing, own business) by Kelvin on 09-06-2008

Hi, this is the beginning of a new work week, and you are task to do something new, something boring that we believe, and worst still something that you have never done before, and you have to learn it from scratch.

So, you ask yourself “How many times do I have to learn all these boring stuff?”.

Well, you can make it interesting. A simple way is to make the process of learning that dull subject relates to what can easily interest you. Here are some ways that you can consider creating a connection between the dull subject to your interest:

  1. If you need to memorise some boring stuff…..you can  connect it to something you usually like to do, by imagining how you could apply this boring stuff to it (like mountain climbing, writing your blog, managing your finances etc…).
  2. If you hate to need to learn a new kind of software tool for a project that you are managing….. you can imagine how you can apply the usage of the software to what you can potentially make money for you, e.g. to enhanced your website, you blog or your internet marketing business. You can also see whether that software can be used to enhance your daily life, you home, your family or even the environment we are living in.
  3. If you need to draw or paint something that you are lousy at….you can pretend that you are drawing it for your a competition, or you are using this painting that you have created as a gift to a friend’s gallery or a museum You can imagine yourself in this gallery or museum with your painting hung on the wall for visitors all over the world to appreciate.
  4. If you cannot relate the dull subject with your interest….Well, give yourselves compelling reasons to learn it. By having a compelling reason, it will force you to learn rapidly. For example, if  your doctor will to tell you that you are diagnose with a rare heart conditions that he has never heard or come across, you will try to understand it, go to the internet to research for its causes, the available treatment methods and the side effetcs, how rare it is and perhaps who are the specialists in this area. So, try create a compelling reason to generate your interest and pretend you desperately need to learn it, as tough it is life threatening to you. If your imagination is strong enough, you will find that you can approach the learning process very differently and effectively.

Finally, by having curosity on the part of the learner can generate the interest in any subjects that we intend to learn. All of us are capable of learning new things, be it interesting or boring, but the will to learn is the key of all. To be able to make dull subjects interesting will give us willingness to learn, and to learn it rapidly and effectively.
